So often I see businesses spread themselves thin by trying to have a presence on every social media platform available.
Forget it. It's impossible to be everywhere all the time, and even more difficult to do a great job in all those spaces.
Here are a few of my strategies for creating good content, consistently and avoid being willy nilly (I love that expression!)
1) Think in terms of themes, campaigns, holidays, seasons, etc. This makes it easier to line up all of your content and have it streamlined for each platform like Facebook, Pinterest & Twitter. It will be much easier to create and curate content that you want to share, if that content is centered around a common theme or interest.
2) Do all of the up-front work. That might be crafting blog posts, taking professional photographs, etc. Having your content organized makes it easy to schedule content and post organically in the moment as well!
3) Lastly, (I'll share more in an upcoming post) schedule content a week at at time. BUT always monitor your social accounts daily so you can respond to anyone who comments, retweets, etc. I have all of my customer's social media accounts set up to alert me if anyone interacts with them. That way I can balance what I want to PUSH out to fans and followers and manage how they interact with that content.
*When scheduling content, make sure everyone who is able to post content knows about it. Avoid overriding a coworker's tweet or Facebook post for instance.
